Three-Days-Two-Nights at Pearl Farm. The Davao Pearl Farm is a sea side beach front resort located in an island called Samal which is just about 45-minutes motorised boat ride from Davao City. See http://www.pearlfarmbeachresort-davao.com/ppc/.

One can take a plane from Manila to Davao City and take a cab directly to the Pearl Farm jump-off point and main front office. It could take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes (depending on the time of day and traffic situation) from the airport towards the direction of the Waterfront Hotel (formerly the Insular Hotel) to the marina where Pearl Farm Resort exclusive boats/ferries carry visitors across to Samal island with four trips (8AM, 1.30PM, 4PM and 6PM). For day-trips, one can take the 8AM ride to the island and the 4PM ride back to Davao City.

    This is the pathway to the Samal accommodations. To the right are the houses, and to the left is the mountain. An electric car transports guest and carries the luggages to and from the front office.

    Yup. For about five days, my wife Cecill and daughter Ida accompanied them to PF and Mati, Davao Oriental.

    Yung kasing main dishes were in covered containers (hindi kita yung mga laman). But they were not really extra-ordinarily special.

    In PF, you have several beaches to choose from. This one is located a the far end of the resort - a little more private and with less people than the main one.

    I've been to Samal Island but never to the Pearl Farm resort.

    Ang ma remember ko talaga for this is that when I came to Samal Island w/ my cousin and her family, timing yung hostage crisis sa Pearl Farm, tapos namatay ang arowana kong iniwan sa Cebu...

    anyway, kumusta naman cost for the Pearl Farm? value for money or expensive?

    When we saw this, a staffer was already dismantling it kaya kalahati na lang yung "tree." Yung lower part na lang. We asked kung puede kainin. We were told that these bananas are bound for disposal na.

    Actually, the Pearl Farm is just a very small part of the island of Samal. Samal in fact is called Samal City composed of a number of baranggays. Most of the people tough are engaged in fishing. The people in the interior part are coconut growers and copra farmers.

    As to whether one gets his money's worth in PF is a matter of taste really. If it is luxury or pampering you are after, you'll get your money's worth. But if you are there for just a bit of the PF experience, a day-tour may suffice. By the way, boat transfers and breakfast are part of the package. The rooms are air-conditioned. And for just a nominal fee, you can request for a private romantic dinner setting on the beach or on the floating diner located some 100 meters off the shore, with a dedicated waiter.

    Yup. We missed a meet with Chiara. Nasa Bohol daw sila at that time.

    On our first day, it was raining. As you can see in the photos, naka-payong kami. But on the 2nd and 3rd days, the weather was perfect.

Rating: ★★ Category: Movies Genre: Action & Adventure I've been watching out for this movie since I first saw it as a trailer for one of the movies I saw recently. I just thought that my longing for a great martial arts movie minus the spectacular location shootings and the cast of thousands that usually attend many of the recent films in this genre, e.g. Hero, and House of Dagger of Jet Lee, and without the zany humor that are the mainstay of Jackie Chan movies, would be a little refreshing if not a little nostalgic for the Kung Fu films of the great Bruce Lee. I am happy to note that indeed there were no spectacular scenery shots, and the story and action very serious indeed. Of course, how else can a portrait of an assassin be presented but seriously.
