Sa Tabi ng Lawa ng Taal




Nitong nakaraang Sabado, ipinasyal ng pamilya ang dalawang bisitang taga-New York at ilang mga kaibigan sa tabi ng Lawa ng Taal sa isang resort na matatagpuan sa bayan ng Talisay sa lalawigan ng Batangas.

Doo'y nagsalo-salo kami sa isang eat-all-you-can na kainan ng mga lutong Piipino tulad ng Binagoongan at iba pa. Hindi naman sadyang katangi-tangi ang mga lutong pagkain at masasabi kong sapat lamang para mapawi ang gutom.

Nguni't ang tanawin sa tabi ng lawa ay sadyang napaka-ganda. Mapalad kami't inabutan namin ang isang napakagandang takip-silim kasabay ng pag sikat ng buwan na sa wari ko'y full moon.

Ang mga larawan sa ibaba ay ilang lamang sa marami kong kuha na nagpapa-kita ng mga tanawing aking nakita. Nawa'y magustuhan niyo ang mga ito.


Dito ay makikitang para bagang bumu-bukas ang kalangitan at sumi-silip si haring araw.

Isang ibon an makikitang animo'y naglalaro sa tubig na sina-salamin ang isang magandang takip-silim. Makikita din sa bandang kaliwa ang mali-it na bulkan ng Taal.

    Thanks Lou. Perhaps parang makata nga ang dating, pero it was just my way of keeping with the real meaning of the word "taal" which I think translates to "tunay" or "totoo," as in "taal na Tagalog."

    Hehehehe...naisip ko lang kasi na ang takip-silim ay hindi lamang tungkol sa araw. It's also about the water, the clouds, the mountains, and yes, even about the fence.

    While I was taking this photo I heard a comment, "naghahanap yata ng kuto."

    This place is very accessible from Tagaytay. That's the main reason why we were able to pass by Mariapolis on our way back to Manila.

Personal Sa Akin Ang Bagyo (I Take Typhoons Personally)

This is an image of typhoon tracks from 1980 to 2005 or a period of 25 years (photo from wikimedia). NOTE: Please click on the image to view large format (available only for 30 days and counting...) . If you are familiar with the southeast asian geography, you probably know that right in the densest part of the storm tracks is where the Philippine archipelago is (indistinguishable and literally obliterated from view due to the blue lines that mark the tracts of possibly hundreds of typhoons during the two and a half decade time-frame). And if you're familiar as well with Philippine geography, you'll probably know that right smack in the middle of that storm corridor is the Bicol Region and as such, it is probably the most typhoon-battered/ravaged region in the entire Philippine archipelago.
